APFAO and its member-associations of associations met virtually on July 17, 2020 to discuss and explore potential opportunity with regards to the Sustainability Standards and Certification Initiative (SSCI) for associations developed by the Karlsruhe, Germany-based European Organization for Sustainable Development (EOSD) http://www.eosd.org/en/
The ‘SSCI for Associations’ is a holistic framework designed to make associations fit to become crisis responders in the new era, solid and competent post-crisis, as well as partners and strong organizations serving the interests of their members. The core of this tools is the value-driven “octagon” which comprises the essential aspects of the organizational performance points of associations, namely, governance, management, business model, operations, member benefits, technology, stakeholder relationship, and human capital.
