
APFAO, represented by Toni Brearley, CEO of the Australasian Society of Associations (AUSAE) and Octavio ‘Bobby’ Peralta, Founder & CEO of the Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives (PCAAE) participated as panellists of the Global Day organized by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) for international associations on October 27, 2020. 60 association executives and professionals participated in the virtual event.
The programme covered a “Tea, Coffee, Cocktails” session which allowed participants to meet, greet and share experiences on the challenges and opportunities brought about by the coronavirus pandemic. The programme also featured two blended panel sessions (pre-recorded and ‘live’ chat) on the topics of “Contributions and Challenges of Associations Around the World” and “Build your Global Strategy: What Really Matters Now and in Your Future?”
It was in the first panel that Toni and Bobby participated in the discussions. Their co-panellists were Giuseppe Marletta, President of the European Society of Association Executives (ESAE) and Jeffers Miruka, President of the African Society of Association Executives (AfSAE). Greta Kotler, Chief Global Development Officer of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) was the session moderator.
